Guess Who

Today I went to the Newfoundland Water Trials put on by HANC (Heart of American Newfoundland Club). It was the first water trials I'd ever been to, and it was awesome! I've never seen so many Newfies in one place... I saw a 10 week old puppy, a Landseer, a brown newfie, and a TON of black Newfies (Nova included). For those (like me) who don't know much about these trials, the Newfoundlands are tested on typical things they are bred to do. One test they had to swim out and drag a boat to shore, another they had to save a "drowning" person, and another they had to "save" their owner. They also did things like retrieve lost paddles, get a toy from the bottom of a shallow part of the lake, and fetch lifejackets that were "dropped" from a boat.

This is my Newfoundland Nova at the event. She didn't participate (she still doesn't even like swimming much) but she had fun watching with us.
