Literature Text

The Goddess Cirece's beauty,
The Siren's tender song,
Is nothing to the love,
That we shared our whole life long.

The sound of guns all firing,
The terror that ensues,
Could not measure to my horror,
at the devastating news.

The sinking of Titanic,
The attack on NYC,
The eruption in Pompeii,
Can't compare with losing she.

The mournful sound of funerals,
The lone wolfs howl of gloom,
Was nothing to my sorrow,
While looking at her tomb.

The time that followed after,
With days that felt like years,
I sat beside my sister,
And spoke only with my tears.
Written for a contest on Nutrinopets. Anyone who has a suggestion for the 3rd stanza, I'm all ears. It doesn't quite flow with the rest of the poem, but I like the metaphors too much to completely scrap it and start that one over. ^^

Hope you like it. It was "Heartbreak" for the contest. I'm really not usually an angsty person.

very emotional.

I think for the 3rd stanza, perhaps you could relate it to things..."more at home" so to speak. We're all aware of these problems, but really, we couldn't understand the pain that any of those events would occur. Or atleast, a limited amount of people would- and not to the full extent.

I think it could perhaps focus on things that more people could relate to.

Other than the third stanza, it's a very beautiful poem. well done :)
